Our Story
An Lac House was built in 1997 in the historical city of Cambridge, and was specifically designed to provide supported housing for older Vietnamese residents. It is now the only service in the UK that focuses on the Vietnamese community, and our 10 residents come not just from Cambridgeshire but also from other areas in the south of England. We are proud of An Lac House and the unique service provided to our residents. Many of them would struggle to fit in at a more conventional care home, but at An Lac House they feel part of a community, and are surrounded by culturally familiar language, food and customs, and live with people with similar backgrounds and experience.
An Lac House has a small and dedicated staff of four, who are all Vietnamese speakers. These include chefs who prepare two delicious home-cooked meals a day, in a familiar Vietnamese cuisine. Our staff provide 24-hour support to residents, ensuring that they are safe, healthy and happy. We offer a variety of activities for health, well-being and enjoyment, as well as opportunities to socialise with volunteers and the local community.
